SUP with Pups
After a summer trip to Alabama and Florida, I was feeling more inspired than ever to get out on the water. Life in San Diego is nice with easy beach access, however, many of us take it for granted. I'll admit that even I have after only three years of living here.
While traveling for wedding season I had the opportunity to visit my favorite uncle who is known for always having more than a few water toys in his possession. Throughout the years this abundance of sporting goods meant there wasn't a single water sport that I didn't try because of his influence as I was growing up.
After one morning spent on a stand-up paddle board taking in the salty air and view of sting rays shuffling along the bottom of the bayou floor this May, I decided that paddle boarding was something I absolutely had to make into a personal hobby.
I've rented a SUP before, and have even done yoga on one with a friend, but to have my own would allow me to get out on the water on a whim. Plus, it would be super fun to do with the dogs too! So the hubby and I did our research on different style boards and ultimately chose an inflatable option. One might wonder how that works with dog nails, but with the marine grade pvc shell, they are strong enough for dogs to hop aboard too. And what fun it is!
Here are some shots from our adventures out on the water this summer with many more to come...
