Super Blood Moon Eclipse
Tonight the hubby drove us outside the San Diego city limits to a sight so amazing that my camera couldn't do it justice. We pulled off an isolated two lane road and sat together facing a field with the rear of our SUV open. An occasional bat flew by as the sun was setting, and before I knew it, a sliver of the moon was visible above the nearby mountains. It moved more rapidly than I imagined it would up into the sky and then slowly began turning warm hues. I had just viewed my first Super Blood Moon Eclipse. Can you believe this sighting isn't going to happen for another eighteen years? Sitting outdoors tonight, looking into the star speckled night sky in complete silence made me feel so unbelievably tiny. What a feeling that is. Astronomy is wild, isn't it?
