Fence or Fortress?
Over the last few weeks, the largest DIY project on the home front has been fencing. With 475 boards and 3,360 pounds of concrete mix delivered, we were ready to get our fence build on. In the back, we started with a chain link eyesore that offered absolutely no privacy to a now fully gated, modern fence fortress. Additional building took place up the side of the driveway, beginning next to the garage and running all the way to the curb on the street after tearing down an existing rotted wood fence. We also built new gates on each side of the house leading into the backyard. It was all hands on deck as we dug trenches, moved stones, hauled an auger, mixed concrete, sawed wood, leveled, drilled, hammered, and finally, stained (which I inevitably ended up covered in). The hubby and I could not have done it without the help of a few handy family members and good friends – so thank you for your time, energy, and for loaning us your tools. Each of you were crucial to this project being accomplished and we cannot thank you enough! If ever you need the favor returned, you know where to find us. Now, let’s get to the fun part – before and after shots with a few images of in between. Enjoy the transformation!
